A Candle of Lost Stature

He stands proud and tall!
Looking up toward the sky.
Marveling... wondering...
yet, he never asks of why.
Then he feels as his passion starts to burn.

His flames grow ever higher,
as he only wonders more.
Always searching..
but not knowing of what for.
As he slowly slips away never to return.

He is losing himself,
to his trivial yet moral passion.
Yet it goes unnoticed...
for this day and age it is in fashion.
As he is lost in the shadows... never stopping.

These nights he feels weak... drained...
empy... of life...
finally picking up on the notion,
he is dying from his strife.
As he dwindles down to nothing.

As he flickers out he stares...
at the stars and the moonlit sky.
Then lowers his had with tears,
And with a gasping breath asks... "why?"
As another man of the flame is consumed...
by the ever-surrounding darkness...
